Rhythm Metre Timing

127 unusual exercises for musicians

In this book, Arend Weitzel presents a fully new approach to the fundamental topic of rhythm – in the systematic and thorough way which have made his publications famous.

Trilingual: german, english, chinese

A succession of tones, sounds or noises is comprehensible as rhythm if ratios and patterns are recognisable over time, from which a definite metre can be perceived.

In my experience, seemingly simple rhythms are in practice the more difficult ones, since they are more easily recognised and so any imprecision is much more easily noticed. This is exactly the reason why this book focuses on basic principles.
